Vertical Ethiopia: Climbing Toward Possibility in the Horn of Africa Majka Burhardt, Writer, Climber and Guide

What began as adventure turned into advocacy for writer, climber and guide Majka Burhardt as she journeyed to Ethiopia where she climbed desert sandstone towers up to 180 meters high and discovered a side of the country that goes beyond its international reputation largely limited to drought, famine and political strife. Burhardt's compelling story and experiences examine the intersections between adventure and history, revealing what it means to climb and explore the world.
